3 Tips for Improving Empirical Outcome Statements

It can be intimidating to write empirical outcomes—the EOs. Here are 3 tips I would suggest to make your credentialing journey easier:
- Follow directions. Follow the directions for writing the EOs. Don’t skip a single step.
- Make sure you understand what your problem was in the first place. Many organizations have a problem, but what they end up measuring is the intervention, and not whether or not they improved their performance in a particular area.
- Really think about your goals. What is it that you want to improve? How are you planning to improve it? Make sure your intervention actually will solve your problem.
